ANGEL'S POEM is a movement from SPEAK!, featuring a reading by Angel, a ten-year old orphaned child and Ugandan civil war survivor. Her poem is accompanied by a viola solo performed by Jamaal Jones, and vocals based on the Ugandan 'Kitaguriro' chant. ---- MTV Movie Award nominated documentary filmmaker, music video director, and composer William D. Occurring half an hour into the multimedia advocacy concert SPEAK! SO THE WORLD WILL LISTEN! UGANDA, this section features audio testimony from Pepe Onziema, one of a few gay rights activists fighting for equality in Uganda. This clip combines projected visuals of homophobic Ugandan newspapers and tabloids with live symphonic accompaniment based on traditional Ugandan drumming rhythms.
